These inspections and reports are Intended to assist the owner who may be having a home or townhouse constructed, or alterations or additions being carried out to their home and want an independent inspection at different stages of construction of the project. An immediate verbal report can be provided, backed up with an emailed copy of the report sent to the purchaser within a business day of the inspection having been performed and a hard copy sent in the mail if requested.
Keith Le Compte has been involved in the building industry for over 50 years and has been a building contractor of his own business. In recent years as a building consultant, Keith has become versed in all aspects of the building industry, having inspected over 3,000 houses and units. Inspections are carried out generally at similar stages that the certifier would inspect but not necessarily during that time and it may involve 5 or 6 independent inspections during the course of the construction.
The inspection involves a written report at the time of inspection and would identify any defects if found or works not complying to the plans and specifications and in some cases may need the permission of the builder to visit the site and possibly a joint meeting with the builder's supervisor may occur. In most cases this is desirable as any issues could be corrected at these inspections, avoiding any dispute with the builder at a later date.
